The Shape of Sound

NEXT Ensemble is seeking original compositions between 5-12 minutes in length featuring Pierrot Ensemble (flute, clarinet, violin, cello, and piano). Selected pieces will receive an honorarium of at least $300, a performance with recording, and will be choreographed and performed as part of a multi-disciplinary event involving modern dance.
Starlight Storytelling: Call for Submissions
Deadline: 8/31/2026
Next Ensemble is seeking submissions for pieces that either react to a short story, or are written as underscore to a story. The instrumentation should draw from this group: Viola, Bassoon, Guitar, 1 Percussionist, Electronics, Clarinet, Vocalist. If the reading is part of the work, proof of copyright or permission must be included.
