Call for Submissions: The Shape of Sound

The Shape of Sound: Call for Submissions.

Requirements:

• Duration: 5-12 minutes.

• Instrumentation: Pierrot Ensemble or subset of ensemble (Flute, Violin, Cello, Clarinet, Piano).

• Work will be suitable for being used with choreorgraphy. (1-5 dancers)

• Desired number of dancers can be requested but final decisions on choreography will be

• Composer has the option to collaborate with the choreographer if desired.

• Utah-based composers will be prioritized, though all submissions will be considered.

Important Dates:

• Submission Deadline: May 1, 2026.

• Performance Date: Sept 25, 2026.

Compensation:

• If selected each composer will receive an honorarium of at least $300 and two comp tickets to the performance.

• A recording (audio and video) will be provided to each selected composer.
